The FAQs

Starting therapy can feel like a daunting process. You might have a ton of questions or unsure about where to start. Below are some frequently asked questions that will hopefully give you a better idea of the therapy process. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions!

Does therapy work?

Yes, therapy works! If you are matched up with the right therapist that is a good fit for you and you put in the work, then therapy will work! It is not an easy journey and it will take time, but when you do the work, you see results.

What happens in the first therapy session?

During the first intake session, the therapist will review paperwork and gather background information to get to know the client and explore what brings them into therapy. We will work together to create goals for therapy and figure out what the therapy process will look like for you.

Who is therapy for?

Therapy is for EVERYONE! Just like you go to the doctor for your physical health, seeing a therapist is for your mental health. Some people seek therapy for additional support or a mental health crisis. We are open to all. Always remember, there is no health without mental health!

How much does each session cost?

The first 15-minute consultation is free! The first intake session is $150. Each Individual session after the intake session is $125. Each family session after the intake session is $135. Don't let the price scare you. Reach out and let's chat before you walk away.

What is the therapy process like?

With the right therapist, therapy can be like having a conversation with someone you trust. Sessions are about 53 minutes long and typically occur about once a week depending on your needs. Therapy sessions are where we discuss progress towards the goals, explore new coping skills, explore feelings, and talk about whatever is on my client’s mind. I like to check in with how my client is feeling that week, and tailor the session accordingly.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes! We accept major insurances like BCBS PPO, Cigna, Aetna, United Healthcare, Oscar Health, and Oxford. If you choose to be self-pay, we can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for partial reimbursement.
